广安区是邓小平同志的家乡，广安市委、市政府所在地。地处川东北，幅员面积1030平方公里，总人口90.5万。辖19个乡镇、6个街道办事处（含枣山、协兴园区）。是中国优秀旅游城市、全国文明城市、国家卫生城市、国家园林城市、国家森林城市、全国综合治理优秀城市、全国双拥模范城市。
Guang'an District is the hometown of Deng Xiaoping and the seat of the CPC Guang'an Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Guang'an City. Guang'an District is situated in northeastern Sichuan. It covers an area of 1,030 square kilometers, with a total population of 905,000. Guang'an District has jurisdiction over 19 rural towns and six sub-district offices (including Zaoshan and Xiexing Industrial Parks). It is named a China Top Tourist City, China Civilized City, China Sanitary City, China Garden City, China Forest City, China Best Governance City, and China Dual Support Model City.
广安区人文底蕴深厚。广安地域春秋属巴国，秦属巴郡宕渠县，宋开宝二年（969年）取“广土安辑”之意设广安郡，广安由此得名。历朝历代设郡、州、府，民国二年（1913年）改州为县，1998年广安市成立时撤县设区，2013年实施行政区划调整设立新广安区和前锋区。巴人宕渠文化源远流长，云童舞列为全省首批非物质文化遗产保护项目，肖溪古镇为四川十大古镇之一，孕育了庞雄、王德完、蒲殿俊、秦炳、何鲁、杨森等名人志士，世纪伟人邓小平是广安灿烂历史中最杰出的代表。
A City of Rich Cultural Heritage. Guang'an District was a part of the State of Ba in the Spring and Autumn Period and a part of Dangqu County of the Prefecture of Ba in the Qin Dynasty. In the second year of the Kaibao period of the Song Dynasty (969), it was designated as Guang'an Prefecture with the implication "vast peaceful land". The name Guang'an has come into use ever since. Various levels of government have been established in Guang'an District over the past dynasties.In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), it changed status from a prefecture to become a county. In 1998,it changed status from a county to become a district upon the establishment of Guang'an City. In 2013, Guang'an District and Qianfeng District were established according to new administrative division. Dangqu culture of the Ba people is of long standing. Yuntong Dance is listed as one of Sichuan's first group of intangible cultural heritages under protection. Xiaoxi Ancient Town is named one of the top ten ancient towns in Sichuan as the birthplace of Pang Xiong, Wang Dewan, Pu Dianjun, Qin Bing, He Lu, Yang Sen and other cultural and historical figures. Deng Xiaoping, a great man of the 20th century, goes down in Guang'an's splendid history as the most outstanding figure born in Guang'an.
这里区位优势明显。广安区位于成渝地区双城经济圈腹地，已融入重庆1小时经济圈，重庆江北机场在广安设有城市候机楼。G42沪蓉、遂广、巴广渝等高速公路在境内交汇，距成都3小时车程，至西安、贵阳等地仅5小时车程。100万标箱的广安港是川东北地区进入长江航道最近的港口，千吨级船舶直通重庆寸滩港保税区。
A Superior Geographical Location. Guang'an District sits at the heart of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. It is integrated into the Chongqing 1-Hour Economic Circle. Chongqing Jiangbei Airport has a city departure lounge in Guang'an. The G42 Shanghai-Chengdu Expressway,the Suining-Guang'an Expressway,and the Bazhong-Guang'an-Chongqing Expressway intersect with each other in Guang'an District. It is a 3-hour drive from Guang'an to Chengdu and only a 5-hour drive to Xi'an and Guiyang. The 1 million TEU Guang'an Port is the port in northeastern Sichuan with the shortest distance to the Yangtze River waterway. 1,000-ton ships can sail effortlessly from Guang'an to the Cuntan Port Free Trade Zone in Chongqing.
这里物产资源富集。盛产国家地理标志保护产品龙安柚及白市柚、盐皮蛋等土特产品，探明和开发利用岩盐、天然气等矿产资源近30种。长江二级支流渠江流经全境，通航里程113公里，可利用水资源4亿立方米，水电站12座。是全国首批50个现代农业示范区之一、全国商品粮和瘦肉型生猪生产基地。
Abundant Produce and Resources. Guang'an District is rich in Chinese products with protected geographical indications (PGI) such as Long'an pomelo, Baishi pomelo, and salt preserved egg. Nearly 30 kinds of mineral resources such as rock salt and natural gas have been ascertained, developed or utilized. The Qujiang River, a secondary tributary of the Yangtze River, flows through Guang'an District. 113 kilometers of the river are open to traffic; available water resources add up to 400 million cubic meters; 12 hydro power stations have been built on both sides. Guang'an District is one of the first 50 modern agriculture demonstration areas in China and a national base for the production of commodity grain and lean meat.
这里发展势头强劲。行政区划调整后，广安区重新布局、转型跨越，推动区域经济逆势上扬，加快高质量发展。“健康的滋味——龙安柚”品牌做大做强，成功创建中国特色农产品优势区、国家地理标志产品保护示范区、全省五星级现代农业园区，获评全省2021年度乡村振兴先进县（市、区）。临港经济开发区成为省级经开区。南浔·广安产业园加快建设，被国家发改委列为中西部承接东部地区产业转移示范区。成为全省首批天府旅游名县、全省第二批全域旅游示范区。
Huge Development Momentum. Guang'an District adjusted its development policy and pursued transformation to drive regional economic development amidst difficulties and promote high-quality development after the change in its administrative status. "Healthy Taste—Long'an Pomelo" has become an influential brand. Guang'an District has built the China Unique Agricultural Products Superiority Zone, Chinese Products with Protected Geographical Indications Demonstration Zone, and Sichuan Five-Star Modern Agricultural Park, winning the title "Sichuan's Rural Revitalization Pioneering District 2021". Guang'an District Port-Neighboring Economic Development Zone has been listed as a provincial economic development zone. Guang'an District is hard at work building the Nanxun-Guang'an Industrial Park, which is listed by the National Development and Reform Commission as a mid-west demonstration zone for industry transfer from eastern China. Guang'an District is one of the first group of famous tourism counties in Sichuan and one of the second group of region-wide tourism demonstration areas in Sichuan.
2021年，全区地区生产总值增长8.3%，增幅居全市第三；全社会固定资产投资增长10%；规模以上工业增加值增长11%，增幅居全市第一；社消零完成155.1亿元、增长18.5%，增幅居全市第二；服务业增加值增长8.6%，增幅居全市第二；城乡居民人均可支配收入分别为41584元、19221元，分别增长8.5%、10.5%，增幅均居全市第三；一般公共预算收入完成8.5亿元、增长11.3%。
In 2021, its gross regional domestic product increased by 8.3%, ranking third in Guang'an City; its social fixed asset investment increased by 10%; the value added of industries above the state designated size increased by 11%, ranking first in Guang'an City; the total retail sales of consumer goods reached RMB 15.51 billion, ranking first in Guang'an City with an increase of 18.5%; the value added of the service industry increased by 8.6%, the second highest in Guang'an City in terms of growth rate; the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents reached RMB 41,584 and 19,221, an increase of 8.5% and 10.5% respectively which ranked third in Guang'an City; the revenue from general public budgets reached RMB 850 million, an increase of 11.3%.
2022年一季度，全区地区生产总值实现43.2亿元，增长4.5%；全社会固定资产投资增长0.6%；规模以上工业增加值增长8%，增幅居全市第二；社消零完成38.1亿元，增长3.7%，增幅居全市第二；服务业增加值实现31.8亿元，增长5.3%；城乡居民人均可支配收入分别为11241元、5247元，分别增长6.1%、7.3%；一般公共预算收入完成3.8亿元，增长10.7%。
In the first quarter of 2022, its gross regional domestic product grew by 4.5% to RMB 4.32 billion; its social fixed asset investment increased by 0.6%; the value added of industries above the state designated size rose by 8%, ranking second in Guang'an City in terms of growth rate; the total retail sales of consumer goods reached RMB 3.81 billion, an increase of 3.7% which ranked second in Guang'an City; the value added of the service industry reached RMB 3.18 billion, up 5.3%; the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents reached RMB 11,241 and 5,247, up 6.1% and 7.3% respectively; the revenue from general public budgets reached RMB 380 million, up 10.7%.
2022年1—5月，全社会固定资产投资增长-11.6%，增幅居全市第三；规模以上工业增加值增长5.8%，增幅居全市第二；社消零完成57.6亿元，增长-8.2%，增幅居全市第二；一般公共预算收入完成4.4亿元，增长-1.6%，增幅居全市第四。
From January to May 2022, its social fixed asset investment increased by -11.6%, ranking third in Guang'an City; the added value of industries above the state designated size grew by 5.8%, ranking second in Guang'an City; the total retail sales of consumer goods reached RMB 5.76 billion, an increase of -8.2% which ranked second in Guang'an City; the revenue from general public budgets reached RMB 440 million, an increase of -1.6% which ranked fourth in Guang'an City.
