Organizing Committee for Global Digital Economy Conference 2024 convenes meeting on publicity work

On November 3, 2023, the meeting on publicity work for the Global Digital Economy Conference 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the “Conference”) was held to deliberate on the specific methods and strategies to publicize the 2024 Conference. The meeting was attended by You Jing, director of the Department of Information Technology and Software Service under Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and Wu Wei, vice head of the department’s General Office. 

The meeting reviewed the highlights in the publicity work for the 2023 Conference, analyzed existing problems, and interpreted the publicity work system. Participants also discussed the publicity strategies for the 2024 Conference. 

At the meeting, representatives from media outlets such as Xinhuanet.com, CCTV.com, China Daily, China Youth Daily, GMW.cn, China.org.cn, China Business Daily, Beijing Radio and Television Station, Beijing Daily, CLS.cn, PR Newswire, Douyin, Tencent, and Zhihu briefed on the highlights of their reports on the 2023 Conference. Based on the situation faced by the publicity work for the 2024 Conference and relevant strategies, the media representatives exchanged ideas on promoting international communication and enhancing global influence of the event. The media outlets expressed that they would mobilize all available resources and make good use of their advantageous communication channels and platforms to boost the publicity of the 2024 Conference. 

The meeting clarified that the 2024 Conference would further increase its international publicity and influence, and broaden its global reach through organizing international press conferences and overseas sub-events. The publicity matrix system will be further strengthened to publicize Chinese solutions and Beijing practices globally. Moreover, it will enrich publicity content, conduct precise communication, and diversify dissemination methods, and optimize and improve publicity strategies and plans for the Conference based on the event’s overall plan. 

As a new platform for global exchange and cooperation in the digital era, the Global Digital Economy Conference has been held three times. The fourth edition of the event will enhance innovation in publicity content, form and carrier to integrate regular reports and in-depth reports, domestic communication and international communication, and traditional media channels and new media channels, thus creating a sound public opinion atmosphere for the development of the digital economy.
