As autumn deepens each year, the Double Ninth Festival (or Chongyang Festival) arrives. As a traditional festival for autumn, Chongyang is a romantic ritual belonging exclusively to late autumn. Unlike the vibrant blooms of spring, Chongyang holds ancient people’s gentle wishes to cherish autumn and pray for blessings and good health. Climbing mountains, wearing dogwood sprigs and admiring autumn scenery are all unique autumn folk customs passed down for thousands of years.
